For all you Tactical home team members who feel like a quick jaunt down to Houston how about coming down and supporting us on this event.

We will be running as members of Stargate Command.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who is going.

ROLEPLAYERS FOR STARGATE:

Til'k - Larva - CP
Dr. Samantha Carter - Misery - CP
Dr. Daniel Jackson - Clearush - Black Watch
Dr. Rodney McKay - Rambo - CP

This game will be drawn from between season 1-3 of Stargate SG1.
Please familiarize yourselves with the storyline and characters.

Rambo - You can also learn alot about your character from Stargate Atlantis series as your character is a regular on that series and only a parttime fixture in SG1 storyline.

The Storyline for this event is as follows:

Jack O’Neil sat stoically at the briefing table listening to Carter babble on about
PX-1145’s naquadah rich soil samples. “This could be one of the richest deposits we’ve encountered since the original mission to Abydos.” Sam said excitedly. “It definitely is worth investigating further General Hammond.” “ What about the locals?” queried Jack. “Well that’s the strange thing sir, the planet appears to be uninhabited. Neither the drone nor the MALP picked up any human or Goa’uld life signs, even though there were several mining type operations and what appears to be a small town right outside the gate area. Here’s some photo’s of what the drone saw.” The pictures on the viewer were strange, buildings, a small rail system…but no signs of life. Then a picture of a very small pyramid flashed onto the screen .A sure fire signature of a Goa’uld occupation. “I know this place.” said Teal’c. “It is Abudan. The reason you do not see any people is because there are none. This planet was cleansed by Apophis over two hundred years ago.” “Cleansed?” asked General Hammond . “ The inhabitants were servants of Apophas. It was their task to mine the nacquada for their god. A small group of ambitious individuals staged a successful coup and overthrew the Jaffa who were in charge of the mining operations. They attempted to use the Jaffa to bargain with Apophis. Apophis would have nothing to do with the negotiations, and to enforce his position as a god, he unleashed a biological instrument that was still in the developmental stages. It killed all of the humans, and Goa’uld alike. The consequence was that it left the planet uninhabitable for Goa’uld and human both, preventing him from mining any more of the naquadah. A significant amount of time has passed and now the planet will most likely support both species again.” Jack leaned forward in his chair. “So what you’re telling us is that ol’ snakehead is probably going to be resuming his operations there pretty soon?” “That is correct O’Neil. Abudan was one of the top producers of naquadah for Apophis. Losing that supply caused him considerable shortages of fuel for his Ha’taks. I have no doubts that he will resume operations as soon as is possible.” Jacked turned to Sam, “Carter, what about this poison air thingee? Is it safe?” “The MALP data showed no anomalous atmospheric conditions that would endanger the mission”, Sam replied. Jack turned to Hammond next. “Well General?” Hammond sat straight up in his chair, palms flat down on the surface of the table. “Major Carter, I would like another report from the MALP to assure us that there is no danger to the SG teams,” stated Hammond. “How long will it take to get this information?” “The MALP is already on site; I can run the tests and have the data in less than an hour sir.” He turned again to Jack, “Have all SG Teams report to the ready room for a full briefing. Jack you will be in charge of this expedition. You are to recover and transport as much of the mineral as is possible back through the stargate before Apophas shows up. Doctor Jackson, as usual document as much information as you can about this place. I’m sure there were some records somewhere about what happened there. Pending Major Carter’s analysis, All SG teams will embark today at 0900 hours.”

It was 0859 and all the SG Teams were in the gate room. The expedition was fully prepared, militarily, scientifically, and geologically. “Carter, are you absolutely sure we’re not going to die when we walk through the other side of this gate?” asked Jack. Sam looked him square in the eye. “There are absolutely no trace elements of any anomalies in the soil or the air sir. I think we’re going be all right.” Jack heaved a heavy sigh and turned to Teal’c. “Hear that Teal’c? Carter THINKS we’re gonna be all right.” Teal’c smiled. He knew that as long as Apophis hadn’t beaten them there, thing would go well. The gate finished its dialing sequence with the familiar whoosh of the vortex completing the wormhole to PX-1145. “Colonel O’Neil, “Hammond’s voice boomed over the intercom, “You have a go, good luck and Godspeed.” Jack dropped his sunglasses down and raised his arm over his head, swinging it around in a circle and pointed towards the event horizon. “WAGONS…HO!” he shouted. “I’ve always wanted to do that.” he thought to himself as he stepped through the shimmering horizon and was whisked through the wormhole to Abudan.

Meanwhile…..

Shak’l stood on the bridge of the Ha’tak looking down onto the shimmering surface that was Abudan. They were much to close to Chronus’s territory for his liking. “They are taking too long!” he thought out loud. “What is keeping the tel’tak from reporting?” he shouted at the watch commander. “I do not know sir. They are past their reporting time. Do you think something has gone wrong?” Shak’l turned back to the viewing window, “Attempt to contact them again!” he snarled. “Apophis will be most displeased.” He thought to himself. This indeed was not a good situation for him in particular. His god had already dispatched three Jaffa who had failed their god on this voyage. If he failed to please his god, he too would join the ranks of the unworthy dead. The Tel’tak had been on the surface for nearly an hour now. They had been tasked with re-introducing three Prim’tahs into a pond only a few short meters from the rings platform. “They were simply to place the Prim’tahs into the water and see if they survived! How difficult can that be?” he wondered to himself. “Perhaps Apophis’s plague was still very much lethal? Could they be dead themselves, as well as the Prim’tahs?” He turned to the bridge commander again. “Locate the tel’tak!” he demanded. “Yes my lord!” the bridge commander quipped. “The scanners indicate the landing party and the symbiotes are indeed alive in the area by the pond…Wait! Two of the symbiotes life signs have disappeared, and the third is moving away from the water.” Almost instantly a frenzied voice came over the intercom. ”This is Ja’leel calling the Ha’tak of my god Apophas.” “Speak Jaffa, this is Shak’l, Fist Prime of the god Apophis!” “My lord, a dreda has devoured two of the three Prim’tahs we placed into the waters. The third has fled into and is lost to us!” “FOOLS!” screamed Shak’l. “Were you not aware that you were responsible for the lives of the children of Amonet? What of the beast who killed her children?” Ja’leel’s voice wavered over the console,” It is dead my lord. I killed it myself with my bare hands by strangling the life out of it.” Shak’l’s fist slammed down on the control panel. “You will not be so lucky if you do not find the last of Queen Amonet’s children! Do I make myself clear?” he screamed. “Yes lord! I will find the last of Amonet’s children, I swear!” “See that you do!” sneered Shak’l. He turned from the console and throwing his arms into the air he shouted, “Must I do everything myself?!” “Perhaps you should Shak’l.” A deep throated voice boomed from behind him. Shak’l turned to see his god standing before him, eyes ablaze with rage. He swiftly dropped to his knees and looked down at the ground before him. This was not good. “Why have you not begun dispatching the mining teams to the surface of Abudan?” “I thought it best to be certain that the planet was safe lord. I was only following your orders. It is my duty to serve your will.”
“Lord Apophis!” shouted the bridge commander. “The Chappa’ai has been activated on the planet’s surface!” “WHAT?” roared the enraged Goa’uld. “Who would dare….” His voice trailed off as he realized that it could only be the Tau’ri. ”Hummph” he snorted. “So the Tau’ri would seek to lay claim to my planet and steal what is rightfully mine!” Knowing that his ship could be easily detected by Chronus’s roving Ha’taks, Apophis made a bold decision. “Shak’l, you will prepare ten tel’taks and 100 of my fiercest Jaffa. I myself shall lead them into this battle with the Tau’ri. You will take my ship away from the prying eyes of Chronus’s Ha’taks. I will contact you when the Tau’ri have been killed or captured.” Apophis’s eye flared, “I will have this day!”
